How this score is calculated

The score describes where this set sits in the current market. It is not advice, a forecast, or an expected return.

Appreciation vs theme median (35%) — this set's current asking median against original retail, compared with the median of already-retired sets in the same theme.

Scarcity signal (25%) — ownership data and live active-listing supply. Never a production quantity: LEGO does not publish those.

Demand pressure (20%) — want-list entries divided by owners.

Data confidence (20%) — how many verified complete-set listings sit behind the median, and how recent the weekly snapshot is.

Eligibility thresholds — a per-set figure needs a confirmed retirement date, a known original retail price, at least 5 verified complete-set listings and at least six months since retirement. A theme median needs at least 8 eligible sets. Below any threshold nothing is published.

Based on current asking prices for verified complete sets on active listings, not completed sales. Past asking-price movement is not a prediction of future value.
